Grand Canyon Adventure

I didn't have time to do the assignments Professor Clarke assigned us because i was too busy with a fun adventure. I hiked the Grand Canyon. My uncle invited me along. He feels that for his daughters graduation trips they need to experience something that shows them that life doesn't owe them anything. He likes to pick hard things.

This year, for his second of three daughters, he decided to hike across the Grand Canyon. On Friday morning we left for the adventure of a life time. We drove down to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and spent the evening hiking around. If you haven't been there I highly suggest it.

On Saturday we began the journey down the great expanse. Some of the most amazing views I have ever seen were provided throughout the whole hike. We hiked 14 miles down to Phantom Ranch where we spent the night in some rather swanky park service cabins. We had five people in four beds. I'll let you figure out how.

The next morning we made the climb out. It was nine miles from Phantom Ranch up to the South Rim. Seven of those miles were up-hill. We ended up finishing the hike and feeling really accomplished.
